Spaces of Information, based upon “Are we so sure it’s not architecture” by Tim Gough makes the viewer question the purposes of architecture and how much information we can extrapolate from buildings. Focusing on MediaCity and the Imperial War Museum North as hot and cool mediums, the film presents the meaning of ‘spaces of information’ in several ways; the museum as a literal space holding information, whether architecture is as effective without supplementary literature and how accurately the museum presents war compared to a country overcoming war. Through deconstructing and reconstructing the building, the film explores whether the building has really been successful in realising its concept.
